Change of City...in a very good way

So, I was having some issues cementing a dalang to work with in Yogyakarta so the Indonesian consulate here in NYC was kind enough to connect me with an Indonesian artist/professor at Wesleyan who then connected me with an amazing dalang Purbo Asmoro and his assistant/translator Kitsie Emerson in Surakarta. Everyone has been so kind and helpful towards me.
I was kind of freaking out for a while there because it was getting really close for getting a visa and heading out there and people in Yogya were kind of giving me the run around, or so I felt when I couldn't really get in touch with anyone who could actually help me. When I spoke to Mr. Harjito from Wesleyan I was relieved and then the following day when Ms. Emerson called me after a failed attempt at communicating with mas Purbo on the phone (he doesn't speak English and my Indonesian stops at girl, boy, dog and jumping) I was more than elated. I almost cried of happiness. So, I will be working within a community of artists associated with mas Purbo and I feel so blessed that I have this opportunity and that the universe has opened up and put so many wonderful people in my path to allow me to experience this.
